  • The Dash

I've heard it said that our life is lived in the space between when we're born and when we die...

or the dash.

Robert G Gridley Jr.
(1965 - 2008)

It is with a heavy heart that this month's newsletter comes to you. The sudden loss of my brother Rob (I have 2 sisters as well) has caused me to reflect on what I think I know (brain insights) and what I know I know (gut insights - reflective of God, Universe, Source).

What I think I know is that there has to be a reason because this shouldn't have happened; hence we ask why? But what I know I know is each of us has a soul on a journey that often cannot be determined or understood by anyone else, and my brother has fulfilled his soul's journey.

What I think I know is if I blame someone or something external I'll feel better or it somehow helps the situation. I may not consciously claim to know this, yet why else would I take such a destructive action. Because what I know I know is what I do towards others I do towards myself, Universe, God, Source, which leads me to . . .

What I think I know is we are individual, separate entities disconnected from each other. What I know I know is we are all one, connected on a spiritual, nonphysical level. The irony is when we wish harm to someone else and believe it doesn’t harm ourselves.

What I think I know is that I have no idea how to heal from unexpected events or what we as humans label "tragic." What I know I know is deep down I'm already healed - I just don't feel it yet. My job is to do the inner work and bridge the connection.

What I think I know is his life is now over. What I know I know is his life is a continuation, just in a different form. Now my brother lives on intangibly, yet is still with me and everyone else.

And so in honor and memory of my dear brother, Rob, I make this request.

From whatever your belief system, will you send immense Love and Light to all whose life was touched by, all who knew, and all who loved The Dash, known as Robert G Gridley Jr.

In love and gratitude . . . Karen
